Out for an hour...

Red call, 80+ year old lady, discharged less than 90 mins ago from a local hospital now suffering with abdo pain and headache. She's not even made it home, we found her in her sons car outside the house... Reciently started on warfarin, now looks like she's having a stroke... What can we do, but 'scoop and run' back to the hospital so they can do the best for her, and for her family.

Why do we do this?

I love my job, I've been doing it for almost 12 years now. Things still move me, I'd like to think that every patient gets my all.... We might only see them for a very short space of time, but quite often that time is one of the most stressful in their lives. We cannot forget that.

Those of you that know me, or think you know me... When you see that I don't care any more, that I'm flippant in the wrong places, arrogant or rude to my patients, please tell me. Tell me it's time to move on and find another job, because I will have lost my focus, lost what I think makes me damm good at what I do......

Well Hello

Hi guys, thanks for reading the drivel I'm going to post on here over the next however long this goes on for, let me introduce myself as much as I'm willing to.

I've been working for a private sector medical provider for the last 12 years, now about to make the transition between private and NHS... Wish me luck!

I'm hoping to be able to share my journey with you as I retrain, and share some of the stories I see on a day to day basis, and bring you some from the past 12 years as well. I know I've got big shoes to fill with some of the other ambulance blogs out there, but this is my journey, and what I do!
